EzSocial vs Buffer: A Scheduler for What You Make, or a Tool That Makes It?
Last updated September 29, 2026 · Written by the EzSocial team, a competitor of Buffer
The short answer
Buffer and EzSocial solve different halves of the job. Buffer is one of the most established schedulers: it publishes what you make to 12 networks, with analytics, a comment inbox, an AI writing assistant, team approvals, and a public API and MCP server, priced per connected channel with a free plan for up to 3 channels. EzSocial makes the posts: it reads your website, writes six-slide slideshows about your product with AI images and a caption, and publishes them to Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, on your schedule or on Autopilot. If you already have content and post widely, Buffer is the better tool. If the blank calendar is the problem, EzSocial fills it. Some founders use both.

Making posts versus moving them
Buffer describes its AI Assistant as a way to brainstorm ideas, rewrite content and craft platform-specific posts. The images and videos are yours to bring, from your own library or integrations such as Canva.
EzSocial's job starts before scheduling. It reads your website into a Brand DNA profile, picks a story format such as a practical guide, mistakes and fixes, or myth versus reality, writes six slides, generates the images and writes the caption. You can upload your own images and videos and schedule them too, but the reason to use EzSocial is that you do not have to make them.
What Buffer has that EzSocial does not
Buffer publishes to 12 networks: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn (including company pages), X, YouTube Shorts, Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack Notes. It has analytics on every plan, a comment inbox with AI reply suggestions, and on its Team plan, unlimited members with approval workflows.
EzSocial publishes to three: Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn personal profiles. It has no analytics or comment inbox, and its web app only invites viewers, on Pro and Max.
Pricing
Buffer prices per channel. Its free plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Essentials is $6 per channel a month ($5 billed yearly) and Team is $12 ($10 billed yearly), with lower rates beyond 10 channels. Three channels on Essentials cost $18 a month.
EzSocial prices by output, not channels. Its free plan gives you 5 posts a month, counted per platform, and your first slideshow free. Creator is $19 a month for about 10 slideshows, with one Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn account; Pro is $49 and Max is $99, with more slideshows and workspaces. Scheduling your own uploads uses no credits.
Using both
The two fit together without much overlap. Use EzSocial to make and post slideshows about your product on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, and keep Buffer for text posts, other networks, analytics and replies.
